The Youth Scholar Academy (YSA) is a summer enrichment program aimed at helping disadvantaged male high school students stay in school, while equipping them with the resources to enter college and thrive. The program provides high school students with much-needed academic preparation, exposure to new opportunities, and interaction with Institute for Responsible Citizenship scholars who are some of America’s best and brightest African American male college students. YSA groups come from across America to experience Washington, DC and be mentored by the Institute’s exceptional college scholars. Since its inception, the Youth Scholar Academy (YSA) has served youth from New Haven, CT, Chicago, IL, Kansas City KS and MO, Philadelphia, PA, and Baltimore, MD.
